Butt wipes feel clean, but they aren't automatically so. Often unnecessary for the skin, and usually a burden for the environment and wastewater.
Butt wipes promise control. Clean in one go, no water, no thinking.
The fact that they come with ingredients, packaging, and disposal problems stays out of sight. Convenience seems neutral, as long as it works.
Butt wipes clean through wiping plus moisture. They contain preservatives, surfactants, or fragrances so they stay usable. And these are exactly the substances that can irritate the sensitive skin of the intimate area.
Sustainable they are not: they're manufactured, packaged, transported, and thrown away after a single use. Many end up in the trash, some in the wastewater, where they cause problems.
By comparison, water cleans without additives and without a single-use product. Butt wipes don't solve a hygiene problem, they just shift it.
„Butt wipes are more hygienic“
Not necessarily. Cleanliness comes from removing, not from fragrance or feeling.
„You can't do without them“
Yes you can. Water is enough in most cases.
„But there are sensitive versions“
Fewer additives doesn't mean no burden.
„Now and then it's fine“
Yes. It becomes a problem as an everyday habit.
Butt wipes are a stopgap, not a standard. If you don't need them, leaving them out is the simplest form of intimate hygiene.
Take a moment to check why you use them. Feeling or actual need. After that, it often decides itself.
