Because the butt is functional but culturally taboo. What works every day gets systematically ignored.
You don’t talk about the butt. It’s considered embarrassing, dirty, or private. Care stops at paper. Knowledge ends at “wipe.” Anything beyond that is dismissed as excessive, unhygienic, or unnecessary.
The butt is part of a precise excretory system. Skin, sphincter, nerves, and gut work in coordination. Dry cleaning removes residue incompletely and irritates the skin. A lack of knowledge leads to irritation, inflammation, and the wrong kind of hygiene. That’s not a character flaw, it’s a mechanical problem.
“The body takes care of it on its own.”
The body works better with the right care.
“Paper is enough.”
Paper moves the dirt around and dries out the skin.
“You don’t talk about that.”
Not talking about it doesn’t change how it works.
“More hygiene is unhealthy.”
The wrong kind of hygiene is unhealthy.
The butt got moralized instead of explained. The result is ignorance about an everyday part of the body.
